Served on freshly baked rosemary sourdough focaccia and toasted to order.

Knead & Desire Bakehouse is an award winning small batch open-plan bakery making handcrafted organic sourdough bread.

Made through slow natural fermentation, typically 24-36 hours, this aids digestion and develops a deeper flavour, aroma and crust.​
Provenance of ingredients is important to us, and we pride ourselves on using only the highest quality ingredients and organic flour. Our longer-term aim is to source all our flour (and other ingredients) from local organic and sustainable farms and mills. ​
We make a wide range of breads, alternating these weekly, available freshly baked in our bakery / shop in Hitchin and for delivery direct to customers in Hertford, Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City and the surrounding villages.
